My Google search

Google Search

While doing the Google search for my name I found that it was not that hard to find myself. My name search brought up the LinkedIn account that I created. My name was in the top three matches on the page. The other Lawrence Mosley names were spelled the same as mine, but lived in other states. One of the other two Lawrence Mosley’s were a pastor at a church and the other was an engineer. I took this initial Google search to be good news for my personal branding, just because if an employer was looking for me he or she would not have to look far.

I also notice on the second most popular Google search page that showed up  was a page called Spokeo.com, this site captures all the Lawrence Mosley’s in the United States, and then breaks them down by state and city. So after finding my name it was easy to trace my path to my current address. I guess the positive thing about this second search is that nothing negative popped out, and it did verify my current address.

The third most popular result for my name was the Facebook page. My name search brought up a Facebook page and a picture that was not me. The picture that happened to come up was a picture of another gentleman, who appeared to be much older than me. All the search results after the initial three searches that I did strayed a little further and further from actual results of me. There were doctors, football players, and sex offenders that popped up. I did all of these Google searches of myself prior to uploading new and current photos both on LinkedIn and on Facebook. I believe that up to date information will be the answer to there being any confusion of who I am when my name is being searched. I believe the key to success is consistency, keep the same picture and contact information about myself the same.
